Carrie The Musical? -1.052009-11-13 02:48:15Janine
Second time a charm? Yes, that’s what they would like to think. Since they’re in need of funding, it’s requested they do a reading in front of industry execs and they pulled out all the stops with the cast. Just announced, Tony Award winner, Sutton Foster, will play the gym teacher, Ms. Garder, and Tony Nominees Marvin Mazzie and Jennifer Damiano will play Margaret and Sue. American Idol Alum, Dianna DeGarmo will play Chris. This looks like it could very well be a home run. We’ll be getting tickets if it gets the green light to the Great White Way!!

I love bowling. I know this places me in the awkward minority associated with receding hairlines and bad embroidered shirts – but ever since I bounced my first bowling ball back and forth off the lane bumpers, I’ve been hooked. Cheap beer from the bar usually helps me overlook my bowling shoe fashion and makes the bowling pin animations on the scoring screens even more entertaining. Thank god Lucky Strike (650 W. 42nd St.) came along to save my reputation. Lucky Strike has turned lanes from a place where florescent lights reflect on the forehead of the teenager disinfecting your shoes into a trendy new lounge atmosphere. Every Tuesday night they host the Gutterball Lounge and Discotheque – with DJs spinning behind live stage performances. They have an ever-rotating gallery of art and boast hosts Lady Rizo and Shien Lee (of the Dances of Vice parties) to keep the night edgy and entertaining. The lights, music, and performances almost make me forget the reason why I first wanted to come: bowling’s free ‘til midnight after you rent the shoes.
